2018 Distinguished Teaching Awards

Twelve faculty members have been chosen to receive this year’s Distinguished Teaching Awards, an honor given out since 1953 to recognize the university’s finest educators. Among the recipients are two REACH faculty members, Professor Thomas Brunold, Department of Chemistry and Assistant Professor Jerome Camal, Department of Anthropology. The REACH Initiative aims to improve student learning by transform high-enrollment, lecture-based courses into more active and inclusive learning environments that increase students’ engagement in their own learning and can be sustained by academic departments.

Chancellor Rebecca Blank and Provost Sarah Mangelsdorf will present the awards April 11, 2018, at a 5 p.m. ceremony at the Fluno Center, 601 University Ave. The ceremony, sponsored by the Office of the Secretary of the Faculty, is free and open to the public.
