EI Small Grants continue to support grassroots, instructor-driven innovations

From blended and active learning strategies, to Open Educational Resources (OER) and course assessment practices, the EI Small Grant Program continues to support grassroots, faculty and staff-lead innovations and advancements in teaching and learning.

The program funded 16 proposals from five schools and colleges, across 15 departments, at a total of more than $230,000. Read more about the grant recipients and their innovative efforts.

Overall, the program received just over 30 proposals that were submitted from eight schools, colleges, institutes and programs. The total amount of funding requested reached over $450,000. Proposals were evaluated and recommended for approval by a review committee consisting of faculty and staff from various campus units. Proposals were selected based on their exemplification of the program’s main themes, alignment with departmental priorities, demonstration of long-term sustainability and, most importantly, impact on student learning.

New this year, the EI Initiative also offered another grant opportunity specifically focused on online course development. Learn more about EI’s commitment to online learning and development support opportunities.
