The Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives (OMAI) celebrates its 20th anniversary and two decades of the First Wave Hip Hop & Urban Arts Scholarship Program, the world’s first and only four-year, full-tuition scholarship dedicated to Hip Hop culture and artistic practice. This year also marks OMAI’s 20th Annual Passing the Mic Festival, October 15-18, 2026, bringing young artists from across the country to Madison for multiple days of artmaking, mentorship, college access, community and performance.
