The Discussion Project Virtual summer 2020 – Apply by July 3

The Discussion Project aims to strengthen campus-wide capacity to create welcoming, engaging, and academically rigorous classroom environments in which students experience productive classroom discussions on key content and issues.

New this summer 2020 is The Discussion Project Virtual, a new training to support online discussion. Starting July 20, the training consists of five, two-hour synchronous sessions in BBCollaborate Ultra, each accompanied by an hour of asynchronous work. For completing all sessions, modules and program evaluation surveys, participants will receive $250. All participants will also have access to free instructional consultation during or after the training.

Any UW-Madison instructor teaching a fully remote course this fall is eligible to apply including graduate students who are the primary instructor for their course.

*Note: Because of public health concerns, the program will not be running in-person trainings during fall 2020, as previously planned. The program hopes to resume in-person trainings beginning January 2021.
